Do you get nervous when the clock is inching closer to evening (aka the witching hours)? That nervous energy builds up as the afternoon passes by and you start thinking, “How bad is it going to be tonight?? Is mine the only baby fussy at night?”
I used to walk in circles around the house from 6:00PM until 9:00PM. It was the same loop through the kitchen and into the dining room every night. The loop was the same and so were the questions I’d ask myself: Am I good mom? What else could I try???
Walking into the grocery store, I am super excited that my youngest is still asleep in her car seat. I am looking at possibly grocery shopping at a leisurely pace. My older 2 are in preschool. I have performed the miracle of getting her from the car into the store without waking her up. And within 2 minutes an older lady comes up to me and grabbed her foot while she is sleeping and says “What a cutie!”. Eeek!!
I am super non-confrontational but this almost had me screaming. Seriously…I am about to be able to grocery shop in peace and she is waking up my baby!
Do you have the baby book your mother filled in for you? I do because I am the first-born in my family. My mom says she is sorry to my younger siblings that the books are a little scattered and sometimes blank. When my babies were born I knew I was the type to fill out the first few pages but then forget the rest so I looked for alternatives to the traditional baby memory book.
I had no idea there were so many great ideas. I love creative mom entrepreneurs. They help make our lives as moms so much easier. One of my dreams in life is to come up with a great new baby product…I have a million ideas.
Are you hearing “Mommy, I can’t sleep” in the middle of the night. Your child is sneaking into bed with you night after night and you aren’t getting any rest. Aren’t we supposed to be getting lots of sleep after the newborn stage? Turns out that, for some of us, we still aren’t getting a full nights sleep even when our kids are 5 years old.
Some kids who have always been great sleepers can go through a stage of waking in the middle of the night. We just went through this in my house when the boys had a stressful week of soccer tryouts and 2 hours of standardized testing every day. It was rough and it messed up their sleep habits.
I put out a call to my local mom Facebook group. I received advice from others that had been through it and lived to share their secrets about what worked.
Have you ever had to cut out a knot in your daughter’s hair? I had to cut knots out pretty regularly because she just would not let me completely finish brushing her hair. The knots would just grow and grow especially at the nape of her neck. It is still a struggle everyday to completely brush her hair out but I have found a few tricks for how to detangle hair quickly and without her screaming and crying.
I even recently cut a few inches off her hair to make it easier on us but I just love long hair. I put out a call to my friends to find out what everyone was using to make the whole process easier.
I do not want to trip over my boys cleats anymore. We have some built-in shelves for them but they always end up at the bottom of the steps where they sit to take them off. My husband is threatening to throw away all the toys in the garage if we don’t tackle our problem with sports equipment storage ideas.
I researched some ideas of how to tackle all our soccer balls, cleats and tennis rackets and get it all under control. Why reinvent the wheel? Let’s see some ideas of what others are doing.
I remember the day that I finally had to give my 4 day old twins a bottle. The memory that is most vivid is the feeling of being completely confused because I wasn’t given any information on how many ounces a newborn needs during bottle feeding. How was I supposed to know? To make it even more daunting, I realized that I was supposed to learn how to interpret tiny signals or gestures my babies were sending to me.

Why do my kids think it is hysterical to smell their shin guards after practice? The kids in the carpool all make each other smell them to see whose is the worst.
With twin 9-year-old boys we are drowning in smelly sports gear so I was thrilled when FunkAway wanted to partner with Fennell Seeds to help remove the smell. My kids store all their sports equipment in our garage which is not the best for airing out the smell.

I try to start out each summer with an organized pool and beach bag but by the end of the summer it is a disaster. This year I am using all the tricks I can find on the internet to keep all our necessities contained.
Moms do anything to get their babies to sleep through the night. Swaddling can be magical and with some babies really helps to get them to sleep longer. The problem comes of knowing when to stop swaddling and which is the best and easiest way to transition. Let’s be real…the whole goal is less crying and more sleep. 🙂
