Signs That Your Child has RSV And Not Just a Cold

by Carolyn 17 Comments

The fact that October is RSV awareness month brings back scary memories in our family.

In February of 2010 my sons were both sick with what we thought were colds. One of my sons was worse than the other. The new symptom he had that I had never seen before was fast breathing. Talk about scary. I started using Dr. Google and thought, “oh no, is this a symptom of RSV”?

by Carolyn 32 Comments

This is a sponsored post. As always my opinions are my own.

Every mom at some point after having multiple children has to make a major decision. Minivan vs SUV.

Some people have a huge stigma with driving a minivan and think it is not cool and some people embrace it. I have had both a minivan and a SUV and love both for different reasons. If you are deciding which vehicle is right for you I will give you my pros and cons of driving both.

Parent-teacher conferences are coming up fast. They are a great time to communicate with your child’s teacher one-on-one but they can also be nerve-racking. Not only do you want to get the most out of it and really understand how your child is doing in school, you probably also want to foster a positive relationship with your child’s teacher.

Having an idea of what you’re going to say and being prepared with some questions can help the conference run smoothly. So, if you’re new to parent-teacher conferences or just need some suggestions, here are some questions that would be appropriate to ask during a conference.

Do You Have A Nose Picker? 3 Great Ways To Get Your Kid To Stop.

by Carolyn 37 Comments

Every mom hopes their child won’t be a nose picker. It is inevitable if you have multiple children that one will be obsessed with putting their finger in their nose. It is gross. Even if you have a nose picker you still look at other kids that put their fingers in their nose and get disgusted. Just thinking of all the toys they have played with that your kids are going to touch makes me cringe.

7 Fun Alternatives To The Traditional Baby Memory Book

by Carolyn 25 Comments

Do you have the baby book your mother filled in for you? I do because I am the first-born in my family. My mom says she is sorry to my younger siblings that the books are a little scattered and sometimes blank. When my babies were born I knew I was the type to fill out the first few pages but then forget the rest so I looked for alternatives to the traditional baby memory book.

I had no idea there were so many great ideas. I love creative mom entrepreneurs. They help make our lives as moms so much easier. One of my dreams in life is to come up with a great new baby product…I have a million ideas.

Is Your Kid Sneaking Into Bed? Real Moms Tell 5 Ways They Successfully Stopped It.

by Carolyn 26 Comments

Are you hearing “Mommy, I can’t sleep” in the middle of the night. Your child is sneaking into bed with you night after night and you aren’t getting any rest. Aren’t we supposed to be getting lots of sleep after the newborn stage? Turns out that, for some of us, we still aren’t getting a full nights sleep even when our kids are 5 years old.

Some kids who have always been great sleepers can go through a stage of waking in the middle of the night. We just went through this in my house when the boys had a stressful week of soccer tryouts and 2 hours of standardized testing every day. It was rough and it messed up their sleep habits.

I put out a call to my local mom Facebook group. I received advice from others that had been through it and lived to share their secrets about what worked.
