After having twin boys it was no secret to anyone that I was hoping for a girl with my next pregnancy. I got my wish and entered the girl world. Now that we were having a baby girl I would ask all my friends that were girl moms what I need to know.
There are pros and cons for having the first grandkids. Pros – extra excitement for being the first including lots of attention and visits from the grandparents. Cons – No hand-me-downs. I am the purchaser of all the clothes and my sister gets to benefit with all the hand-me-downs.
I can’t tell you how many times she has asked me…where is that cute red dress that I know Britton wore a few years ago?
C sections happen to many of us. It’s a scary time to be faced with a major surgery when giving birth. I have had 2 c sections and want to share the real tips that help with c section recovery.
There isn’t any other surgery where you are expected to immediately take care of someone else and not yourself.
It was a big shock to my system to have a c section, barely be able to get out of bed and my first priority was trying to learn how to breastfeed, waking whenever my twins cried, and being more sleep deprived than I have ever been in my life while still needing my husband to help simply sit on the toilet.
What a crazy first week!
Are time outs no longer working for you either? I need new consequences and luckily a big group of moms have shared their creative punishments for kids.
About age 5 my boys seemed to have no change in behavior when I sent them to time out. They would come out of timeout and the first thing they would do is the same behavior that got them in trouble in the first place.
It can be difficult when your baby won’t stop crying. You might feel concerned that something isn’t right with your little one, frustrated that things aren’t going your way, or that your methods are sub par. The truth is, you can handle it. Learning the correct techniques can help you to soothe your upset or even colicky baby, without losing your cool.
Congratulations! I know pregnancy news can be exciting and scary at the same time. It is only natural. You are a hero! Can you imagine you are carrying a life inside you?
You have taken part in creating an awesome human being. It goes without saying; many things have changed. Your body is no longer the same, your lifestyle has changed and not to mention your priorities.

We all want to teach our kids to be self sufficient and independent. To do this we have to take the time to invest in our kids. Small moments of patiently teaching, coaching and correcting all add up to making great children. Unfortunately sometimes I find myself doing the exact opposite. I am impatient and just do it myself instead of taking a moment to teach my kids.
I specifically had the opportunity this week to teach my boys how to unload the dishwasher. I know this is a task that they can handle at 10 years old but I have just been doing it myself because it is faster and I know where everything belongs. I had to stop myself and give myself a talking to and realize that this isn’t helping them to become the type of man that I want them to be.
This made me realize that there are a bunch of things that as moms we have to get out of the normal routine of just making it through the day and take some time to make the small investments into our kids futures.
Do you want your planner or bullet journal to look artsy or preppy or bohemian but you aren’t an artist? I have always wanted my planner to look cute as well as organized but I have poor handwriting and am not an artist. I have found some super easy ways to make my journal look amazing without having to draw myself.
Tracking your baby’s routine is a great way to ease your worried mind. Gone are the days of a notebook and pen to nonsensically write things down. Now, there are several baby tracker apps and printables that can allow you to quickly and easily track your baby’s life in an organized way.
Chances are, as a parent, you will spend most of your time worrying about your baby’s health, schedules and habits. It’s natural to struggle with worry and only want the best for your little bundle of joy.
I love Charleston, SC. It is beautiful, not too big and great to spend a long weekend with the family. Sharing places that kids will enjoy is fun for me, especially since I have a lot of family and friends who visit. Sometimes we want to do break up our time with something other than going to the beach with the kids and I have my favorite spots to share with you.
