Are you trying to get your baby to do tummy time but all they do is cry? Laying your baby on their stomach is necessary but can be uncomfortable. Here are 5 tummy time ideas to keep your baby enthused and minimize the fussing.

The Mayo Clinic recommends up to 20 mins of tummy time a day for 3 – 4 month old babies. The point of tummy time is to build strength in the neck muscles but it can also help with gas and preventing flat spots on a babies head. (Here are 3 great tips to keep your baby’s head from getting flat.) Break it into small segments, even 30 seconds at first, and slowly build up to the recommendations.

Congratulations! There is a new baby in the family. Everyone is thrilled and even your first-born is showing signs of loving the new baby. You are doing everything to prevent new sibling resentment and it seems to be working until you hear “Why do we always have to do everything for the baby?”.

My kids had the worst cradle cap as babies. With my first babies (twin boys), I had no idea why my kid’s hair was matted down until my Mom came to visit. She told me that I needed to work on their cradle cap. I was too afraid to scrub their heads very hard so it was building into a very bad case. Their heads would even bleed if I scrubbed it to hard.

Our Experience With Pyloric Stenosis

I am not a doctor this is just our experience. If you suspect a problem please see your doctor. 

“You must head immediately to the MUSC Children’s Emergency Room.”

There is nothing like that statement to completely flip your emotions out of control. It feels like you have been sucked down a tunnel and you can see the doctor speaking but you feel like hear what is her or she is saying because you are down in a black tunnel and are getting scared.

Our experience with projectile vomiting and Pyloric Stenosis. The symptoms and diagnosis and surgery experience with pyloric stenosis from a the parents angle. I hope this helps anyone who is experiencing a possible diagnosis. [Read more…]
