by Carolyn Leave a Comment

Do you have the dream of the kids running down Christmas morning and their eyes just round with amazement because of all the presents that Santa brought?

The first year I purchased all their gifts online I didn’t take into consideration the size of the gifts. I spent the day before Christmas trying to get things organized. It was then that I realized that even though I had spent what we had budgeted for Christmas, all our gifts for our 5-year-old twin boys were small.

Yes, You Need To Baby Proof Your Windows: Here’s How.

by Carolyn Leave a Comment

This post was sponsored by Window Covering Safety Council as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

I’ll admit that I had never thought that I needed to baby proof our windows when we had our kids. If you are like me, we didn’t start baby proofing until our kids started rolling and pulling up on things. Then all of a sudden it became urgent to make everything baby-friendly.

Learning to FLY with the FlyLady: Daily Routine to Keep Your House Guest-Worthy

by Carolyn 3 Comments

Are you looking for the game-changer for keeping your house clean? FlyLady is a system of simple daily quick tasks to keep your house under control and guest-worthy.

I have used this system for years and am not sponsored in any way but want to share because the whole system was eye-opening for me when I first discovered it.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve lived in chaos.

My dining room table is a war zone of school papers I need to look through, junk mail and fast food condiments. My nightstand is a disaster area, with me battling every night to find a clear surface to wedge my water glass into. The living room looks like a toy factory had a G.I. bug. The kitchen always needs to be cleaned from the last meal before I can prepare the current meal.

What I didn’t know was that I was that I was actually living in C.H.A.O.S.: Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome. How did this happen? I try so hard every day to at least make a dent in this clutter and go to bed every night feeling like a failure. I go over to friends’ homes and they say “Excuse the mess!” as they gesture towards an unfolded blanket on the sofa and a book on the floor. Why do I struggle so hard to accomplish what everyone else seems to do so naturally?

Decluttering 101 – How to Get Started and Stay Motivated

by Carolyn 1 Comment

A cluttered house makes for a cluttered mind. At least that’s the consensus. The truth is, if you want to start to declutter your home, motivation to do so is necessary.

While most people tend to have a little clutter somewhere in their homes, there are those that have rooms stuffed to the brim with things they think they might use someday, things they never use or stuff they are hesitant to discard. This leaves whole areas of their houses unusable for what they are intended for.

Clutter on any level can be extremely overwhelming, causing stress. While you may think this would be enough to get anyone motivated to start getting rid of the clutter, the truth is, many people don’t know how to get started, and end up discouraged.
